Beck is back with Modern Guilt, a followup to 2006’s The Information. Modern Guilt features production from famed artist and producer Dangermouse, as well as contributions from Cat Power (Chan Marshall). You can pick it up on July 8th.
U2 fans have a new album to look forward to. Although the album is still untitled and there’s no certain release date, the band’s manager, Paul McGuinness, said in an interview with the BBC that they’re hoping for late October. Bono has said the album is a departure from the last two albums, and includes trance influences. Brian Eno, who’s been very busy this year producing for artists like Coldplay, is on board as a producer.
Night Ranger, best known for their 80’s hit “Sister Christian”
, are releasing their 9th studio album, Hole in The Sun. You can get it on July 1st.
Courtney Love had been working on songs for her next solo album with the help of Linda Perry and Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), but was recently reported to have scrapped them all in favor of new songs written with new Hole guitarist Micko Larkin. Unfortunately, this could push a release date back as far as next year.
After a five year hiatus, rapper Immortal Technique is back with The 3rd World, a massive 18-track undertaking. Look for it on the 24th.
Ska Punkers Less Than Jake are set to release their new album, GNV FLA on June 24th. The album’s title comes from an airport code for Gainesville, Florida, the band’s hometown. Despite the band’s best efforts, the album has already leaked on the internet.
And if you want some new releases today, you can go out and get the Goo Goo Dolls Greatest Hits Volume 2, and Ice Cube’s Raw Footage, which the rapper claims is more political than his last release.
