McGuinness has dismissed rumours that the band’s frontman Bono will be joining the Spice Girls as a ‘sixth member’ on their comeback tour.
Speaking at the Q awards bash, McGuiness said that though the band members were all fans of all-woman Brit pop group, Bono would not be joining them, or writing a song for them.
“We’re great fans of the Spice Girls. But rumours that Bono is to join them as a sixth member are sadly not true,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Rumours started circulating last week that Bono had collaborated with the Spice Girls to record a new single for their greatest hits album to attract more fans for the reunited Brit pop band.
The Spice Girls’ greatest hits album is scheduled to release before Christmas, 2007.
