U2 are the next band in line for an extended residency at the O2 Arena in London, according to reports.
The Irish rock heroes are currently understood to be working on a new album, their first since 2004's "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb".
There are unconfirmed claims that Bono and co will accompany the release of the record with a 21-date run at the former Millennium Dome.
The concerts, which will presumably form part of a full world tour, will take place in 2008, although there are no official details at this stage.
As previously reported, U2 re-release their landmark 1987 album "The Joshua Tree" next month, featuring a host of extras, rarities, B-sides and deluxe packaging.
